How To Modify or Update Stop-Loss for an Open Position in FYERS?

Stop-loss orders help limit losses by exiting your position when the price reaches your set level. You can modify the order when you want to change this level without cancelling and placing a new order.

You can modify a stop-loss order from the Orders section on FYERS App or FYERS Web, as long as the order is still pending.

On FYERS App

To modify or update a stop-loss order on FYERS App:

  • Open FYERS App.
  • Tap Orders from the bottom navigation bar.
  • Select the pending stop-loss order you want to modify.
  • Tap Modify.
  • Update the required details, such as price or trigger price.
  • Tap the Modify button shown on the screen.
  • Review the order status to confirm that the updated stop-loss order is still pending.

On FYERS Web

To modify or update a stop-loss order on FYERS Web:

  • Log in to FYERS Web.
  • Go to Orders from the top navigation bar.
  • Click the edit/pencil icon next to the order.
  • In the Modify Order window, update the required details, such as price or trigger price.
  • Click Modify to submit the updated order.
  • Check the Open tab to confirm that the revised stop-loss order is still pending with the updated values.

Important points to note

  • A stop-loss order can be modified only before it is triggered, executed, cancelled, or rejected.
  • If the order is no longer visible in the Open tab, check the Completed or All tab in the Orders section.
  • Orders may be rejected if the updated price or trigger price is outside the exchange-defined circuit limits.

What If?
