You can exit an individual open position directly from the Positions tab in FYERS. This helps you close a specific position without affecting your other open positions.
FYERS App
- Open the FYERS App.
- Go to Portfolio from the bottom navigation.
- Open the Positions tab.
- Tap the position you want to exit.
- The position details screen will open.
- Tap Quick exit.
- The order panel will open with the opposite order side.
- Review the symbol, product type, quantity, order type, funds, and charges.
- Modify the quantity if you want to exit only part of the position.
- Tap the exit order button, such as Sell Qty or Buy Qty, depending on the position side.
After the order is executed, FYERS displays an order confirmation with details such as symbol, product, side, quantity, order type, and processing time.
FYERS Web
- Open FYERS Web.
- Go to Portfolio from the top navigation.
- Open the Positions tab.
- Hover over the position you want to exit.
- Open the position action menu.
- Select the exit option for that position.
- The order panel will open with the opposite order side.
- Review the symbol, product type, quantity, order type, funds required, funds available, and charges.
- Modify the quantity if you want to exit only part of the position.
- Click the exit order button, such as Sell Qty or Buy Qty, depending on the position side.
Once the order is executed, FYERS Web shows a confirmation message, such as Sell order for [symbol name] [quantity] quantity executed successfully.
What if...
| Scenario | Solution |

| Partial exit | Change the quantity in the order panel before submitting the exit order. |
| Exit option not visible | Ensure you are viewing an active position in the Positions tab. The option will not apply to Holdings or already closed positions. |
| Order not executed | Check the market status, order type, price, and available liquidity for the selected symbol. |
| Position still visible after exit | The position may remain visible if the order is pending, partially executed, or only part of the quantity was exited. |
