You can convert an open position from one product type to another without exiting the trade. For example, you can convert an Intraday position to Overnight/Delivery or convert an Overnight/Delivery position back to Intraday, if the position is eligible.
FYERS App
- Open the FYERS App.
- Go to Portfolio from the bottom navigation.
- Select the Positions tab.
- Tap the position you want to convert.
- Tap Convert to Intraday or the available conversion option.
- The Convert Position window will open.
- Review the symbol, side, product type, and available quantity.
- Enter the quantity you want to convert.
- Tap Convert.
Once submitted, a confirmation message appears: Position conversion request placed successfully for [symbol name].
FYERS Web
- Open FYERS Web.
- Go to Portfolio from the top navigation.
- Select the Positions tab.
- Hover over the position you want to convert.
- Click the position action menu.
- Select Convert to Overnight or the available conversion option.
- The Convert Position pop-up will open.
- Review the symbol, side, product type, and available quantity.
- Enter the quantity you want to convert.
- Click Convert.
After successful submission, FYERS shows a confirmation message such as: Position conversion request placed successfully for [symbol name].
FYERS Trader
- Open FYERS Trader.
- Go to Account Manager at the bottom of the screen.
- Open the Positions tab.
- Locate the position you want to convert.
- Click the edit/pencil icon next to the position.
- The Convert position pop-up will open.
- Review the symbol, side, current product type, and quantity.
- Enter the quantity you want to convert.
- Review the displayed conversion path, such as Overnight → Intraday.
- Click Convert.
Once the conversion is successful, FYERS Trader displays a confirmation message: Your position has been converted successfully.
Position status after conversion
After a successful conversion, the position’s product type is updated in the Positions tab.
For example, if an Intraday position is converted to Overnight, the product type changes from Intraday to Delivery/Carry Forward where applicable. If an Overnight/Delivery position is converted to Intraday, the product type updates to Intraday.
Conversion issues and eligibility

| Partial conversion | Enter the quantity you want to convert in the Convert Position window, subject to the available quantity. |
| Convert option not visible | The position, product type, or symbol may not be eligible for conversion. |
| Conversion failure | Check whether the symbol is eligible, the market/session allows conversion, and sufficient margin is available. |
