GST, or Goods and Services Tax, is a unified tax applied to goods and services. It's levied from the manufacturer or service provider right through to the end consumer. In the securities market, the standard GST rate is set at 18% across all segments. This tax is applied to the combined value of the brokerage and total transaction charges, which includes both the Exchange Transaction fee and Clearing Member charges.
