The Order Book displays cumulative Bid (buy) and Ask (sell) quantities across different price levels.
It includes three reference points:
The Bid and Ask curves show how resting quantities accumulate as you move away from the current market price.
This helps you identify whether liquidity is concentrated near the current price or distributed across a wider range of price levels.
Book Pressure summarises resting liquidity on the Bid and Ask sides, making it easier to compare the quantities available in the order book.
It displays the following information:
| Order Book | Book Pressure |
|---|---|
| Visualises cumulative Bid and Ask quantities across price levels. | Summarises resting liquidity using quantities, imbalance, average order size and spread. |
| Helps identify where liquidity is concentrated or distributed. | Helps compare the balance of resting liquidity between the Bid and Ask sides. |
Using both features together helps you understand how liquidity is distributed across price levels and how resting buy and sell quantities compare.
| Scenario | Solution |
|---|---|
| More resting quantity on the Bid side than the Ask side | This indicates that the displayed order book contains more resting buy quantity than sell quantity within the measured levels. It does not guarantee upward price movement. |
| Different liquidity balances in Top 50 and Full Book | Liquidity may be distributed differently near the current market price compared with the wider available order book. Comparing both views helps you identify these differences. |
Note: Order Book and Book Pressure provide information about resting orders, which may be modified, executed or cancelled. The displayed liquidity does not guarantee future price movements.
