Margin Trading Facility (MTF) allows you to buy eligible stocks by paying a partial margin upfront, while FYERS funds the rest. This facility is useful if you want to take delivery of shares with leverage and hold them beyond a day. MTF orders are available only for Buy orders.
On FYERS App
- Open the FYERS App and select a stock.
- Tap Buy to open the order panel.
- Choose the MTF tab from the product options.
- Select your preferred order type: Market, Limit, or Trigger.
- Enter the Quantity or Amount and optionally enter the price, if placing a Limit or Trigger order.
- Tap Show advanced to enter Disclosed Quantity or add an Order Tag, if required.
- Review the required margin and leverage displayed in the order window.
- Tap Buy [Qty] to place the order.
On FYERS Web
- Log in to FYERS Web.
- Select a stock from your watchlist and click Buy.
- Click the MTF tab in the order window.
- Choose your order type: Market, Limit, or Trigger.
- Enter the Quantity or Amount, and optionally enter the price.
- Click Advanced if you wish to disclose a partial quantity or tag the order.
- Review the required margin and leverage displayed in the order window (for example, up to 5x depending on the stock).
- Click Buy [Qty] to submit your MTF order.
On FYERS Trader
- Open FYERS Trader and choose the scrip.
- Click Buy to open the order ticket.
- Select the MTF tab.
- Enter the Quantity.
- Check the Margin Required and available funds.
- Click Buy [Qty] to place the order.
Things to Remember
- MTF is available only for Buy orders. It cannot be used for sell-first or short-selling trades.
- MTF is available only for stocks eligible under the MTF framework.
- Leverage varies by stock and is subject to RMS and SEBI rules (for example, up to 5x depending on stock eligibility).
- All MTF positions are carried as delivery trades, not intraday trades.
Important: MTF is available only for eligible stocks and only on the Buy side. If the stock is not MTF-enabled or if sufficient margin is not available, the order may be rejected.
What if...

| Trying to place an MTF Sell order first | MTF can be used only for buying stocks or squaring off existing MTF positions. Sell-first is not supported. |
