A CDSL TPIN is required to authorise the sale of delivery holdings when DDPI is not active or POA is not submitted for your FYERS account. You can generate a new TPIN or reset an existing one from the CDSL authorisation flow that opens through FYERS.
Before you begin
Where this happens: When you choose Authorise in FYERS, either from Holdings or while placing a sell order, you’ll be redirected to the CDSL portal. The CDSL steps are the same whether you start from FYERS App, FYERS Web, or FYERS Trader.
What you need: Keep your BO ID and PAN ready. Your BO ID is the 16-digit Demat account number linked to your FYERS account.
To find your BO ID in FYERS, go to:
Profile → Account Details → Demat
DDPI/POA: If DDPI is active or POA is submitted for your account, a CDSL TPIN is not required for selling holdings. Learn more: Activate DDPI.

- Start the holdings authorisation flow from FYERS.
- Select the stock or holdings you want to authorise.
- Click or tap Authorise.
- On the CDSL Authorisation screen, select Forgot CDSL TPIN.
- CDSL will send a new TPIN to your registered email address and mobile number.
Use only the latest TPIN received on your registered email address or mobile number while completing holdings authorisation.
What if...
| Scenario | Solution |
|---|
| I forgot my TPIN. | Start the holdings authorisation flow from FYERS and select Forgot CDSL TPIN on the CDSL Authorisation screen. CDSL will send a new TPIN to your registered email address and mobile number. |
| I did not receive the OTP. | Check your registered mobile number and email inbox. If the OTP expires, request a fresh OTP from the CDSL page. |
| My OTP expired. | Request a fresh OTP. The OTP is valid for 15 minutes from the time of request. |
| I generated the TPIN but still cannot sell. | Return to FYERS and complete holdings authorisation using your TPIN and OTP. Generating TPIN alone does not authorise the sell transaction. |
| I have DDPI active. | You do not need TPIN authorisation to sell holdings. |
| I want to place a GTT sell order. | GTT sell orders are not supported with TPIN authorisation. Enable DDPI to place GTT sell orders against holdings. |
