Demat Debit and Pledge Instruction (DDPI) can be activated on FYERS through two modes—online (via Web or App) or offline (physical form submission). Online activation is free, while offline activation carries a one-time charge of ₹150. This article explains the step-by-step process for both methods, along with troubleshooting scenarios.
Activate DDPI online
You can activate DDPI online through either the FYERS App or FYERS Web. The process is Aadhaar-based and fully digital. Once submitted, activation typically reflects within 48 working hours. DDPI activation is one-time only and does not require renewal. Once activated, it applies across all FYERS platforms.
On FYERS App
- Log in to the FYERS App.
- Open the menu (☰) → tap My Profile.
- Go to Segments.
- Select Demat Debit & Pledge Instruction (DDPI) → tap Activate.
- Complete the e-Sign process via Digio using Aadhaar and OTP.
On FYERS Web
- Log in at https://fyers.in/web/.
- Click your profile icon → select Profile.
- Open the Segments tab.
- Scroll to Demat Debit & Pledge Instruction (DDPI) → click Activate.
- Select Proceed to e-Sign.
- On the Digio screen, enter Aadhaar number or Virtual ID.
- Click Get OTP and enter the OTP received on your Aadhaar-linked mobile number.
After successful e-signing, DDPI will be marked as “Activated” within 48 working hours.
Tip: Online activation is free and faster compared to offline. Choose this option for quicker processing.
Activate DDPI offline
If you prefer the physical method, you can activate DDPI by submitting a signed form. This process takes up to 7 working days. Like online activation, this is also a one-time process and once completed, DDPI remains valid across all FYERS platforms.
- Download and print the DDPI form.
- Fill in the required details and sign where applicable.

Charges: ₹150, covering stamp duty and processing. The fee is debited from your trading account when the activation request is processed.
Important: Your mobile number must be linked to Aadhaar for the e-Sign process to work. Without this, online activation will always fail.
