How can I use the Bubble chart with the Heatmap to validate insights?
Use the Heatmap to spot broad patterns fast (leaders/laggards by sector or industry).
Then switch to the Bubble chart to test those ideas with a second lens—plotting two metrics on X and Y, plus Bubble size and Bubble colour for depth.
Scope: Applies to FYERS Web and FYERS App.
Two-step validation workflow
Scan in Heatmap:
- Pick Universe (e.g., Nifty 50).
- Set Block size (e.g., Market cap) and Block colour (e.g., 1D chg %).
- Adjust Heat multiplier for clearer contrasts if needed.
- Note sectors/industries that stand out.
Test in Bubble chart:
- Match the Universe (or filter to a sector via Sectoral indices).
- Choose X-axis and Y-axis metrics that explain the Heatmap move
(e.g., profitability vs growth).
- Set Bubble size (e.g., Market cap) and Bubble colour (e.g., 1M or 3M chg %)
to confirm if strength is broad and persistent.
FYERS Web
- Heatmap: Open Analytics › Heatmap → set Universe, Block size, Block colour → adjust Heat multiplier if required → identify a sector/industry to investigate.
- Bubble chart: Open Analytics › Bubble chart → set the same Universe (or pick the sector under Sectoral indices) → choose X-axis, Y-axis, Bubble size, Bubble colour → Apply.
- Use Reset within a setting to clear that one choice, or Reset all on the toolbar to start over.
FYERS App
- Heatmap: Go to Markets › Analytics › Heatmap → set Universe, Block size, Block colour → tweak Heat multiplier if needed → note sectors/industries.
- Bubble chart: Go to Markets › Analytics › Bubble chart → tap the three lines icon (top right) to open Preferences → set Universe (or sector via Sectoral indices), X-axis, Y-axis, Bubble size, Bubble colour → Apply.
Notes
- Consistency check: Set the same Universe in both Heatmap and Bubble chart so you’re comparing the same set of stocks.
- Momentum vs context: Heatmap’s 1D chg % shows today’s move; Bubble chart’s colour can use longer windows (e.g., 1M/3M chg %) to test persistence.
- Zoom & pan (Bubble): Click-drag to zoom; hold Shift and drag to pan around clusters.
What If?
| Scenario | Action |
|---|
| Sector looks strong on Heatmap, not sure it’s real | In Bubble chart, set Universe to that sector → use X = profitability (e.g., margins) and Y = growth to see if leadership is broad, not just 1–2 names. |
| Today’s colour is bright but feels noisy | Keep Heatmap on 1D chg % but change Bubble colour to 1M/3M chg % to check follow-through. |
| Too many bubbles overlap | Zoom (drag) and pan (Shift + drag) to inspect clusters; or switch Bubble size to a wider-spread metric. |
| I need to revert experiments | Use Reset inside a setting to clear it, or Reset all on the toolbar to restore defaults. |
