How can I pledge and unpledge in FYERS (Web & App)?

Pledging in FYERS lets you unlock collateral margin from your existing holdings without selling them. This margin can be used for derivative trading or to meet margin requirements. You can also unpledge holdings later when the collateral is no longer needed.

Pledging on FYERS App

  1. Open the FYERS App → Portfolio → Holdings.
  2. Tap Pledge.
  3. Select the stock(s), enter the quantity, and tap Pledge.
  4. The Pledge Confirmation screen opens with stock details.
  5. Tap Submit → you’ll be redirected to CDSL.
  6. Complete OTP verification sent to your registered mobile/email.

Pledging on FYERS Web

  1. Log in to your FYERS account → Portfolio → Holdings → Pledge.
  2. Select the stock(s) you want to pledge and enter the quantity.
  3. Click Pledge holdings.
  4. The Pledge Confirmation screen opens with stock details.
  5. Click Submit (CDSL authorisation prompt appears).
  6. Complete OTP verification sent to your registered mobile/email.

What happens after pledging?

  • CDSL confirms pledge status within approximately 10 minutes after OTP verification.
  • Pledged quantity appears under the Pledged tab from the next trading day.
  • Collateral margin is credited to your trading account on the next trading day.
  • You can also check it in the My Account portal → Funds → Collaterals, or in the History tab.

Unpledging on FYERS App

  1. Open the FYERS App → Portfolio → Holdings → Pledged.
  2. Select the stock(s) and tap Unpledge.
  3. An Unpledge Confirmation screen appears → tap Confirm.
  4. An Unpledge Initiated screen shows the details and notes that value will be removed from your funds on the next trading day.
  5. Track progress in the History tab (status shows Pending/Success).

Unpledging on FYERS Web

  1. Log in → Portfolio → Holdings → Pledge → Pledged.
  2. Select the stock(s) and enter the quantity.
  3. Click Unpledge holdings.
  4. Track progress in the History tab. Shares are restored to your holdings on the next trading day.

Important rules and timings

  • Unpledge requests placed before 3:30 PM are processed within 24 to 48 working hours.
  • There is no need to unpledge to sell. Pledged shares can be sold directly.
  • Unpledging is allowed only for unused pledged margin. If the margin is in use, you must add funds or square off positions first.
  • Pledge and unpledge requests can be placed only between 9:00 AM and 3:30 PM on trading days.
  • Requests placed after 3:30 PM or on weekends cannot be submitted and will not be processed.

What if?
