How can I filter stocks using Quick Mode in Smart Screener on FYERS?

Quick Mode in Smart Screener helps you narrow down stocks based on what you want to analyse. Instead of going through stocks individually, you can select conditions from the available drop downs and get a shortlist of stocks that match your requirements.

This can be useful when you want to find financially strong companies, identify stocks showing a particular price movement, or shortlist stocks based on a technical condition.

Filtering stocks using Quick Mode

To create a stock screen on FYERS Web:

  1. Log in to FYERS Web
  2. Go to Markets and select Screeners
  3. Click Smart Screeners
  4. Select Stocks in Quick Mode
  5. Select the category you want to use for screening (such as fundamentals, price movement, or technical conditions) and choose the required condition from the Select drop down
  6. Review the matching stocks under Screening Results

You can add more conditions whenever you want to make the results more specific.

Finding companies based on financial performance

If you want to invest in companies that generate strong returns on shareholders’ equity.

Checking this manually would mean opening companies one by one and comparing their financial information. In Quick Mode, you can use Fundamentals, locate ROE, and select High ROE

Smart Screener then shows stocks matching the selected condition under Screening Results.

The initial results can also be refined as your analysis becomes more specific. For example, you may want companies that have high ROE but also maintain relatively low debt. Add: Debt to Equity → Very Low Debt

The results are now narrowed to companies matching both selected conditions.

This is useful when you already know the characteristics you want in a company but do not know which stocks match them. Instead of manually comparing financial data across companies, you can build the requirement using the available conditions and use the resulting list as a starting point for further research.

Finding stocks based on market movement

Quick Mode can also help when your analysis starts with what is happening in the market rather than a company's financials.

For example, you may be looking for stocks that are currently gaining in price. Instead of scanning a long list of stocks and comparing their price movements individually, you can use Price Gainers and select the price movement that matches your requirement from the drop down.

Smart Screener then narrows the stock universe and displays stocks matching the selected movement under Screening Results.

You can use the same approach when your analysis is focused on stocks losing in price, price trends, gaps, breakouts, or other available price and volume conditions.

This helps reduce the time spent searching for stocks showing a particular market behaviour and gives you a smaller list to analyse further.

Finding stocks based on technical conditions

Quick Mode can also be used to find stocks matching a technical condition without opening charts one by one.

For example, consider an analysis where you want to find stocks currently in the oversold range based on RSI. Select: RSI → Below 30 (Oversold)

Smart Screener displays stocks matching the selected RSI condition under Screening Results.

This gives you a starting list for technical analysis. You can then open the matching stocks and study their charts, price action, or other factors before making a trading decision.

The same approach can be used with other technical conditions available in Quick Mode. Instead of starting with a stock and then checking its indicators, you start with the condition you are interested in and let Smart Screener identify the stocks matching it.

Narrowing the stock universe

The Universe drop down helps limit the screening to the group of stocks you want to analyse.

For example, if you want your selected conditions to be applied only to a particular available stock universe, select that universe first. Smart Screener then looks for stocks matching your conditions within that selection.

This helps keep the results relevant to the group of stocks you are interested in rather than screening a broader set unnecessarily.

Refining and reviewing the results

The conditions you select appear under Criteria, while the stocks matching them appear under Screening Results.

A broad screen can be made more specific by adding another relevant condition. For example, a screen that starts with High ROE can be refined by adding Very Low Debt.

This lets you gradually build the screen around your analysis rather than trying to define everything at once.

Once you have a screening setup that you want to use again, click Save screener, enter a Screener name, add a description if required, and click Confirm.
