This helps reduce a large set of derivative contracts into a more relevant shortlist under Screening Results, which you can then use for further analysis.
To create a derivatives screen on FYERS Web:
The selections available at the top differ for Futures and Options, since the contracts you need to define for each segment are different.
When you select Futures, start by defining the Futures contracts you want to analyse using the controls available at the top.
You can use the available selections to choose the required underlying, time interval and expiry before applying a screening condition.
For example, if your analysis is limited to a particular expiry, select that expiry first. Smart Screener then applies the conditions you choose to Futures contracts within that selection.
This is useful because it prevents you from screening contracts that are outside the scope of your analysis.
Once the contracts are defined, you can select a condition based on what you want to study.
Suppose you want to find Futures where both price and Open Interest are increasing.
Instead of opening Futures contracts individually and comparing their price and OI movement, click Futures tab and select Buildups → Long Build up
Smart Screener displays Futures contracts matching the selected condition under Screening Results.
The same drop down can be used when your analysis is focused on a different price and OI behaviour, such as Short Build up, Long Unwinding, or Short Covering.
This allows you to begin with the market behaviour you want to analyse and identify the Futures contracts currently matching it.
Price can also be used as the starting point for the screen.
For example, if you want to find Futures that have moved up by more than 3%, select: Price Movers → Price Up > 3%
Smart Screener displays the Futures contracts matching the selected price movement.
Instead of manually checking price changes across multiple contracts, you get a focused list that can be studied further using OI, charts, or other information relevant to your analysis.
When you select Options tab, the selection from the top right helps you narrow down the Option contracts before applying a screening condition.
Options have more contract-level selections because the same underlying can have different expiries, strikes, and option types. Use the available selections at the top to define the underlying, time interval, expiry, and the available option contract selection before applying the required condition.
For example, if you are interested only in Options belonging to a particular expiry, select that expiry first. You can then use the available Option selection to further narrow the contracts you want Smart Screener to analyse.
This is particularly useful with Options because it helps reduce the number of contracts being screened before conditions such as writing activity, volume, OI, or volatility are applied.
Suppose you want to identify Option contracts matching the Fresh Call Writing condition.
After defining the Options you want to analyse using the top selections, choose:
Call Writing → Fresh Call Writing
Smart Screener displays matching Option contracts under Screening Results.
If your analysis is focused on put writing instead, the available Put Writing conditions can be used in the same way.
This lets you start with the type of Options you want to analyse and then narrow them further based on the writing activity you are interested in.
You may also want to identify Option contracts showing unusual volume activity.
After making the required Option selections, choose:
Options Volume → Volume Spike
Smart Screener displays contracts matching the selected volume condition under Screening Results.
This saves you from manually comparing volume across a large number of Option contracts and provides a smaller set of contracts for further analysis.
The top selections and screening conditions serve two different purposes.
The top selections define the contracts you want Smart Screener to analyse. The screening conditions define the market behaviour you want to find within those contracts.
For example, in Futures, you can first select the relevant expiry and then apply Long Build up. In Options, you can first narrow the required contracts using the available Option selections and then apply Fresh Call Writing or Volume Spike.
The selected conditions appear under Criteria, while matching contracts appear under Screening Results. Additional conditions can be added when the results need to be more specific, or existing conditions can be changed or removed when the screen becomes too restrictive.
Once you have a screening setup that you want to use again, click Save screener, enter a Screener name, add a description if required, and click Confirm.
| Scenario | Resolution |

| Too many contracts are displayed | Narrow the contracts using the available top selections or add another relevant screening condition. |
| A different expiry needs to be analysed | Change the selection from the Expiry drop down and review the updated results. |
| The analysis needs to switch from Futures to Options | Select Options and use the available Option-specific selections before applying the screening conditions. |
| The analysis needs to switch from Options to Futures | Select Futures and define the required Futures contracts before applying the screening conditions. |
| The screen needs to be created again from the beginning | Click Reset All to clear the selected conditions. |
