Dematerializing Mutual Funds with FYERS

How can I dematerialize my mutual funds with FYERS?

Dematerialization, or "demat", is the process of converting physical financial certificates like shares or mutual funds into digital form, securely stored in a Demat account. This helps eliminate risks related to physical documents and enables easy electronic trading and recordkeeping.

To begin the dematerialization process with FYERS, follow these steps:

  1. Download the Dematerialization Request Forms (DRF) from the official FYERS website.
  2. Fill in the form accurately with your DP ID and ensure your name matches your Demat account records.
  3. Sign in two places:
    • Signature matching the DP records.
    • Signature matching RTA (Registrar and Transfer Agent) requirements.
  4. Mention your DRN and DRF numbers clearly on the form.

Along with two completed copies of the DRF, attach the following documents:

  • One self-attested copy of your PAN card.
  • One self-attested copy of your mutual fund statement (for MF units) or the original physical share certificate (for equity shares).

Also, provide complete details on the DRF, including:

  • Holder's name
  • Script name
  • Quantity
  • Folio number
  • Certificate number
  • Distinctive numbers

After completing the form and collating the required documents, send them via courier or post to the FYERS head office:

FYERS Securities Private Limited
225, 19th Main Road,
1st Block, RT Nagar,
Bangalore – 560032

FYERS does not charge any fee per certificate for the dematerialization process. It is offered as a free service to all FYERS clients.

In such cases, the request may be rejected by the RTA. Ensure that your name exactly matches the records in your FYERS Demat account before submission. If there are discrepancies, you may need to correct your name in either your account or on the certificate before proceeding.

If your physical share certificates are lost, you must first obtain a duplicate certificate from the issuing company or RTA. Only then can the dematerialization process be initiated through FYERS.
