How can I correct or update my name in my Demat account?

If your name has changed or needs to be corrected in your FYERS Demat account, you must complete an offline modification process. You need to submit the required forms and supporting documents to FYERS by courier or post.

Documents required for name correction or change

Submit the following documents:

  1. Name Correction Form
  2. Updated PAN card copy — self-attested.
  3. Address proof reflecting the updated name — self-attested. You can provide any applicable document, such as:
    • Aadhaar Card
    • Passport
    • Driving Licence
    • Voter ID
  4. Handwritten request letter mentioning:
    • The reason for the name change or correction.
    • Your signature.
  5. KRA Form
  6. Valid supporting document for the name change or correction, such as:
    • Marriage Certificate
    • Newspaper publication for the name change
    • Other valid name-change proof
  7. Bank proof reflecting the updated name — mandatory for all new name correction or change requests.

Instructions for filling out the forms

  • Do not mention any dates on the forms.
  • All signatures must be handwritten. Do not use digitalised signatures.
  • Avoid overwriting or striking out any information.
  • If you make a correction or overwrite any detail, add your counter-signature next to the correction.
  • Do not use whitener on any form or document.
Note:
  • The name must always match the details available in the PAN/Income Tax database.
  • The KRA form must be filled as per the PAN and address proof submitted.
