Strategy builder on FYERS allows you to automate your options strategies by defining entry and exit conditions. This helps you execute strategies systematically without continuously monitoring the market.
Overview of automation in Strategy builder
Automation setup in Strategy builder follows a three-step flow:
- Create the strategy by adding the required legs.
- Set the schedule and entry conditions.
- Set the exit conditions and start the automation.
Step 1: Create the strategy
Select an underlying and add one or more legs. For each leg, configure the required details such as option type, strike selection, expiry, buy or sell side, and lot size. You can also configure target and stop-loss for a leg if required.
Step 2: Set schedule and entry conditions
In the next step, choose how the automation should start and define the entry conditions.
- Set the schedule (for example, start only manually or based on the configured schedule).
- Add one or more entry condition blocks based on supported checks (for example, time or price-based conditions).
The automation will enter positions only when your entry conditions are satisfied.
Step 3: Set exit conditions
Exit conditions decide when the automation should stop and when positions should be squared off.
- Add one or more exit condition blocks based on supported checks (for example, realised P&L or position-based metrics).
- Choose the required comparison rules and values for the exit checks.
Strategy builder evaluates exit conditions at regular intervals and acts when your preset rules are met.
Start the automation
After setting exit conditions, save the automation by providing a strategy name and (optionally) tags. Then click Start to run the automation.
Save to drafts
You can click Save to drafts at any stage during setup to save the strategy and conditions without starting it. This is useful if you want to complete or review the setup later.
Managing automated strategies
You can manage all your automated strategies from My automations in Strategy builder. The actions available depend on the strategy status (for example, idle, running, or scheduled).
Important notes
- Automated strategies can be created only for a single underlying.
- All legs in a strategy must belong to the same underlying.
- Once an automation is stopped, it cannot be resumed and must be started again.
