No, we do not support direct switch transactions between mutual fund schemes—even if both belong to the same Asset Management Company (AMC). If you want to move funds from one scheme to another, you’ll need to manually redeem units from the existing scheme and separately invest in the new one.
Switch Transactions
A switch typically refers to a one-click transfer between two schemes of the same AMC. It's commonly used for rebalancing a portfolio or moving between variants of a scheme (e.g., growth to IDCW, equity to debt). While many AMCs offer this functionality directly on their platforms, we do not.
We route mutual fund orders through BSE Star MF and processes all investments and redemptions as separate transactions. As a result, switch functionality is not available.
To manually move from one scheme to another:
- Redeem units from the current scheme.
- Wait for the redemption payout to be credited to your bank account.
- Place a new purchase order in the target scheme.
This process does not preserve NAV continuity or same-day processing like a direct switch would.
Before initiating a manual switch, consider tax implications such as short-term capital gains. We treat redemption and re-investment as separate transactions.
What If...
| Scenario | Explanation |
|---|
| You want to switch from debt to equity within the same AMC | Redeem from the debt scheme and invest separately into the equity scheme. |
| You are rebalancing based on AMC advice | Use the manual redeem-then-invest process. We does not support automatic scheme switching. |
| You expected switch to maintain same-day NAV | NAV for redemption and re-investment will differ unless both actions are completed within the same-day cut-off. |
| You are trying to use SIP switch options | SIP switches are not supported. Cancel the existing SIP and start a new one in the target scheme. |
