Can I redeem SGBs through the primary market?
Yes, you can redeem Sovereign Gold Bonds (SGBs) through the primary market, but only upon their maturity. The maturity period for SGBs is 8 years from the issue date. Although, there is an option to exit starting from the fifth year on the designated interest payment dates. If you wish to redeem on these dates or upon maturity, you must submit a one-month advance notice to the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) through your associated bank.
