Can I Open a Basic Services Demat Account (BSDA) With FYERS?

A Basic Services Demat Account (BSDA) is a simplified Demat account introduced by SEBI to encourage small investors to participate in the stock market with minimal costs.

What is a BSDA?

BSDA accounts are designed for retail investors with limited holdings. As per SEBI guidelines:

  • You can have only one Demat account across all depositories to be eligible
  • The total value of your holdings should be below ₹50,000 to qualify for zero Annual Maintenance Charges (AMC)

You can read the official SEBI circular here.

How to open a BSDA with FYERS

At FYERS, we go a step further; even if your holdings exceed ₹50,000, your AMC will remain zero. This makes FYERS an ideal choice for both small and growing investors.

When filling out the online Demat account opening form, be sure to select or mention the option for a BSDA Demat Account during the process.

Once a regular Demat account is opened, it cannot be converted into a BSDA account.
