No, linking an external Demat account to your FYERS trading account isn’t supported. To trade with FYERS, both the trading and Demat accounts need to be opened with FYERS.

If you already have a FYERS Trading account, opening your Demat account is quick, fully online, and paperless. You can complete the process through the sign-up page in under 10 minutes, provided your mobile number is linked to Aadhaar.

Steps to open your FYERS Demat account online

These steps apply only if you already have a FYERS Trading account and your Client ID does not start with 'Y'.

• Go to the signup page
  Visit the sign-up page
• Enter and verify contact details
  Enter your Aadhaar-linked mobile number and verify it via OTP. Then, enter your email ID and verify it via OTP.
• Choose account type
  Select whether you’re a Resident, NRI, or Corporate account holder.
• PAN verification
  Enter your PAN details and click Verify.
• Aadhaar authentication
  Agree to the terms, click “Authenticate Aadhaar”, enter your Aadhaar number, and verify with OTP.
• Bank linking
  Link your bank account by scanning a QR code for ₹1 UPI validation or by entering the account number and IFSC code manually.
• Verify personal details
  Review your PAN, date of birth, and bank details fetched automatically from KYC records.
• Fill in “Additional Information”
  
  Select one or more of the following:
  • Employment Type (Private/Business/Public/Others)
  • Annual Income Range (Below 1 lakh/1–5 lakhs/5–10 lakhs/10–25 lakhs/Above 25 lakhs)
  • Trading Experience (0–1 year/2–5 years/5+ years)
  • Gender (Male/Female/Others)
  • Marital Status (Single/Married/Others)
  Confirm that you are not politically exposed (PEP) and that you are a tax resident of India.
• Select account segments
  
  • Equity (NSE/BSE)
  • Mutual Funds
  These are enabled by default for Demat account activation. No other segment selection is required.
• Add nominee (optional)
  Enter nominee details, or verify/update them later in the “Personal Details” section after login.
• Upload a selfie and a signature
  Capture a live selfie using your computer’s webcam and upload your scanned or digital signature.
• E-sign using Aadhaar OTP
  Review all information and digitally sign via NSDL’s Aadhaar eSign. Ensure your mobile number is linked with Aadhaar for OTP delivery.
• Trading experience (mandatory)
  Select your trading experience level and confirm.
• Submit application
  Once submitted, your request will be verified, and you’ll be notified once your FYERS Demat account is activated (usually takes 3-5 working days). 

Offline process for ‘Y’ series account holders

If your FYERS Client ID starts with ‘Y’ (e.g., YA12345), the Demat account cannot be opened online. You’ll need to follow the offline route:

1. Download and print the Demat Account Opening Form.
2. Fill and sign the form manually.
