Can an NRI pledge shares to trade in F&O with FYERS?

Can an NRI pledge shares to trade in F&O with FYERS?

Yes, NRIs trading in the Futures & Options (F&O) segment at FYERS through a custodial setup with Orbis Financial can pledge shares to receive trading margins. Although the pledging isn’t processed directly through FYERS platforms, it is fully supported via a third-party route in collaboration with Orbis.

How Orbis-based pledging works?

  • Shares remain in your Demat account and are pledged in favour of Orbis Financial Corporation Ltd.
  • Orbis sends a margin confirmation file to FYERS.
  • FYERS updates your available F&O margin based on this file.
  • Pledged shares will not appear on the FYERS trading platform.

Is pledging done within FYERS?

No. Pledging is handled externally through Orbis Financial. FYERS only reflects the margin benefit after receiving confirmation from Orbis.
